The 2016 Creative Economy Fair, held at COEX in Samseong-dong, Seoul from December 1 to 4, was a successful event with various innovative players, including startups, ventures, small and medium-sized companies, universities, performers, and large companies participating.

The fair, which started in 2013 and is the fourth this year, showed creative economic performance by integrating Korea's "Creative Economy Venture and Start-up Competition" with the Korea Intellectual Property Agency's "Korea Intellectual Property Competition" as the main themes.

The size of the exhibition booth has expanded to about 1,852 and 1,687 participating institutions have increased from 1,109 last year due to the expansion of opportunities for startups to participate. In addition, 69 additional events, including investment and purchase consultations, forums, seminars, and award ceremonies, continued throughout the fair, including demos to attract investment from startups.

A total of 96,532 visitors visited for four days to experience various future new technologies, and had a helpful time for entrepreneurial activities. On December 2, the second day of the exhibition, COEX was temporarily blacked out twice, causing inconvenience to some visitors and a slight decrease in the number of visitors, but ended the fair without safety accident.
