The 2015 Incheon Startup Festival was held at the Premier Ballroom A and B Hall on the second floor of Songdo Convensia, Incheon on the 18th.
The event was attended by officials from major economic organizations, including Hong Soon-man, deputy mayor of Incheon City, Rep. Min Hyun-joo of the Saenuri Party, Choi Sung-joon, director of the Creative Economy Promotion Division of the Ministry of Science, ICT, and Park In-soo, head of the Incheon Creative Economy Innovation Center.
The festival, which was held under the slogan "Emergency," comprehensively introduced various achievements and cases of the Incheon Innovation Center, including fostering the smart logistics industry and supporting promising startups to enter China.
"Incheon Center has been launched the latest in the country, but it has been pushing for projects that are second to none compared to other innovation centers in other regions. In 2016, we will carry out four additional projects, including smart factory construction support, revitalization of new business creation support groups, creation of a start-up ecosystem, employment survival, and operation."
Hong Soon-man, deputy mayor of Incheon Economy, said, "The achievement that Incheon Center has made over the past 150 days is meaningful for startups to instill hope and a spirit of challenge." The event also featured a media cube theme performance, a video screening of the performance of the Incheon Creative Economy Innovation Center, and the first Incheon Startup Contest.
At the awards ceremony, Buff Co., Ltd. (Grand Prize), XB Direct Co., Ltd., Infro (Best Award), Keystone Management Co., Ltd., T.L.N., Foestech Co., Ltd., and QuickHero Co., Ltd. won the award and in the field of idea technology start-up, Dr. Pick (Grand Prize), Bumbi Co., Ltd., Nature Fabric (Best Award), Inomad, Kim Young-soo, Forest, and Bringyu (Best Award) were awarded.
The festival exhibited excellent products from 14 companies that won the contest and innovation certification products from the Incheon Innovation Center.
Meanwhile, eight leading start-ups in Korea conducted IR screening and mentoring at the Incheon Startup IR Competition, and 24 promising start-ups participated in the global employment consultation in conjunction with KOTRA and the National Institute of Education.
In addition, the China Day event announced the experiences of leading online shopping mall start-ups in China and showed the online export ecosystem through Cafe 24's one-stop export platform.
